Automated Building Inspection Request System (CONNECT)

Monday through Friday - 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Except Scheduled Holidays

CONNECT is an automated system that allows callers to use a touch tone telephone to schedule and cancel inspections.

You cannot request your inspection on the CONNECT system on the same day the permit is issued. If this is necessary, please call the regular inspection telephone line at (407) 836-5550.

Instructions For All CONNECT Functions

  1. Dial (407) 836-2825 on any touch tone telephone.
  2. Select one of the following options by pressing the number on the telephone keypad.
    1. Request an inspection
    2. Speed inspection scheduling
    3. Cancel an inspection
    4. Check the status of plans in the review process
    5. Request CONNECT instructions
    6. End this call
    7. If you need assistance
  3. Further instructions for each process will be given by the system. Listen and follow them precisely.

Note: Always follow entries with a # (pound) sign when requested. The # key is on the bottom right of the keypad.

If at any time the automatic inspection system is inoperable, you may call the regular inspection telephone line at (407) 836-5550, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

To Request an Inspection

  1. Call the CONNECT system and choose option 1 after all options have been listed.
  2. Enter the nine digit permit number. Start with the permit prefix letter and end with the # sign.
  3. Enter the area code if not (407) and telephone number followed by # sign.
  4. Enter the three digit inspection code number for type of inspection, followed by # sign.  (See list of codes at the bottom of this section.)
  5. Enter the # sign if you would like the inspection on the next scheduled work date. If you would like to schedule an inspection for some future date, enter the four digit month and day, followed by the # sign.
  6. Listen while CONNECT repeats your entries back to you. You will be given further instructions by the system.
  7. Your request will then be approved and processed. You will be given a seven digit authorization number. Please remember your authorization number; it is needed to request information or cancel an inspection. You will be given further instructions.

Canceling an Inspection

In order to cancel through CONNECT, you must have requested the inspection through CONNECT.

The cancellation should occur prior to the day of the scheduled inspection. (However, it may be done the morning of the scheduled inspection between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. by calling the inspector in the office in order not to incur an additional inspection fee.)

  1. Enter the nine digit permit number. Start with the permit prefix letter and end with the # sign.
  2. Enter the area code, if not (407), and the telephone number, followed by the # sign.
  3. Enter the three digit inspection code number for type of inspection, followed by the # sign.
  4. Enter the authorization number, followed by the # sign.

Permits Required For Mobile Homes

  • Tie Down
  • Plumbing, if on private property with new septic tank
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical (heating & a/c)
  • Separate permit for any addition to mobile home even if it was existing prior to move.
  • 1 Trailer per permit, even if several are needed on the same construction site.

Note: Aluminum Contractor responsible for footer and slab construction.

Owner may obtain any required permit, however, they then accept full responsibility for the fees, work to be performed and being sure all work is properly inspected by Orange County.
